      Cobb Institute of Archaeology

       

      The Cobb Institute of Archaeology at Mississippi State University was founded in June 1971 through gifts provided by Cully and Lois Cobb and houses the Department of Anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures. The Institute sponsors archaeological field work, research and instruction in the archaeology of the Middle East and southern United States. The Institute is a specially designed archaeological facility donated by the Cobb family. They also provided a permanent endowment for support of the Institute’s activities. The Cobb Institute is part of the College of Arts and Sciences.
