      Bowen Hall, constructed in 1929 in the Romanesque Revival style is named for James V. Bowen, father of the business curriculum at Mississippi State. Bowen, who had only one eye, was known to the students as "Bad Eye." Bowen Hall houses the Department of Political Science and the Department of Sociology and Social Work.
