      Joe Frank Sanderson Center

This state of the art facility was completed in 1998 at a cost of $19 million. The 150,000 square foot facility hosts 2,200 patrons daily and is home to a competition size indoor swimming pool, 3 aerobics rooms, 7 glassed in racquetball courts, locker rooms, a climbing wall, 6 basketball courts, an indoor track (1/8 mile round), and a 10,000 square foot fitness center with free and machine weights, and cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills, Stairmasters, bikes and cross trainers. Cardio users can bring a radio and listen to any one of several televisions while exercising. The Sanderson Center was made possible by a gift in part by the late Joe Frank Sanderson Sr., former CEO of Sanderson Farms in Laurel, MS. The Sanderson Center was named "best fitness center in the state" by Mississippi Magazine in 2007.
