Spencer Stadium and Carl Maddox Track
The Spencer Stadium and Carl Maddox Track is open for students to use. The football practice fields sit behind the track. The stadium seats 1,500 and was named after W.O. Spencer, former MSU Olympian. The Track was named after Carl Maddox, a former MSU Athletic Director. The $3.2 million renovation to the Carl Maddox Track at W.O. Spencer Stadium was completed in 2011, in time for several MSU home meets during that spring, including the SEC/Big 10 Challenge in March. The state-of-the-art facility feature nine lanes, a steeplechase water jump and high jump, pole fault and long/triple jump areas, in addition to a javelin runway and shot put and hammer and discus throw rings.
